Tell us about yourself.

I’m a holistic healthcare practitioner by training, with a special (and deeply personal) interest in skin health and skincare. I also have a master’s degree in public health, which means I am both a raging hippie and a bonafide research/science nerd. When I am not working, you can find me hanging out with my dog and/or foster puppies, drinking wine on my neighbor’s front porch, or indulging in a book + beach day with my girlfriends.

What brought you to green beauty?

A lifetime of dermatological issues. If you name a skin condition, I’ve likely had it. Acne, psoriasis, eczema, chronic urticaria, and perioral dermatitis are just a few. Green beauty has saved my skin, and in turn, my sanity.

Your AM routine?

I use my Keeko tongue scraper first thing in the morning before brushing my teeth. To prep my skin, I use The Beauty Chef Probiotic Skin Refiner on a cotton round. I mist with Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator and apply One Love Organics Botanical E Youth Preservation Serum. Finally, I apply two pumps of Zyderma Clarifying Cream to my whole face to protect it from makeup and LA’s pollution.

When my skin was at its worst, I spent hours painstakingly color-correcting blemishes and layering on foundation and concealer. Now that my skin is more balanced, I have settled into a minimal “no-makeup makeup” routine. I wear Hynt Beauty Duet Concealer every day as a light foundation. I fill in brow sparseness with Kimiko’s brow pencil, give my cheeks some life with a touch of Kjaer Weis Cream Blush, and swipe on whatever non-toxic mascara I happen to find in my purse on the way to work.

Your PM routine?

My evening routine is my sacred self-care time, and the difference it makes for my skin is monumental. First, I oil cleanse with Pai Skincare Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil. I cleanse a second time with OSEA Ocean Cleansing Milk to make sure I have erased all traces of the day from my skin.

To prep and tone, I mist with Odacite Aloe + Immortelle Hydra-Repair Treatment Mist or Kahina Giving Beauty Toning Mist. Onto a very damp face, I apply Kypris Beauty Clearing Serum, followed by OSEA Hyaluronic Sea Serum. Lately, I have been mixing a few drops of MV Skincare Rose Plus Booster into Graydon Skincare Skin Stuff to create an extra hydrating and gentle balm for my skin.

I mist again for good measure (and because I struggle with dryness) before finishing up with Naturopathica Vitamin K Brightening Eye Serum and Odacite Bl+C as a spot treatment on any emerging blemishes.

What do you do for maintenance?

What we do on the inside is a huge, and often neglected, component of our skin health. I take a number of supplements and adaptogens each day depending on what my body needs and how I feel. I try to remain conscious of lymph stagnation in the body, relying on exercise, at-home gua sha facials and dry brushing to keep my system flowing. I am a huge fan of acupuncture for maintaining my overall skin health as well—if only I had more time!

Topically, I use various masks and exfoliating treatments to keep my skin glowing and mitigate scarring. Native Atlas Zahara Rewind Tonic, Josh Rosebrook Cacao Antioxidant Mask and OSEA White Algae Mask are all regularly used favorites.
